I've got a CF-29 Mk3 since one week. A nice machine, a bit better graphics 3D mark score etc.etc.
One thing i dont like is the difrent power plug port. I liked the one that is used by the CF-27/CF-28. When the pin breaks, its only the power adapter thats broken.
I've used a lot of difernt laptops, and as a hobby i repair old laptops. A lot of them had broken power connectors.
So, my question is: Is the power connector stable enough or should i be a bit cautious with it ?
I like to read E-books on my bed, with the power adapter plugged in, and i dont want my new (2nd hand) CF-29 to be damaged because of a break of the metal pin inside the power connector on the right side.

Others will chime in but, IMO, the CF-29 style is much sturdier than the CF-28 style

I haven't had a problem with the newer yellow tip chargers. The only power port I have seen on a toughbook was on my first one. A CF-28. The round port in the middle was broken off.

you should be good to go.
to get the "toughest" connection, make sure the rubber (below the metal of the power adapter tip) is making good contact with the rubber of the 29's power port.
I have noticed that not all of my chargers that fit/power my 29, don't always fit the rubber of the power port, and thusly *could* wiggle around a bit (not that they do, but they could).
Good luck, and enjoy!
Is the power connector of the CF29 more vurnable as the CF28
