I bought my CF-53 in used condition. The touchpad is glossy smooth on one side, still standard rough on the other side.

Do you know how to roughen it up again so the finger slips better?

Aerosol. Semi gloss black works well.
Or even black ultra fine texture.
Grab something designed for plastic if you can. Lightly scuff with scotchpad first.

Matte black vinyl. You can get scrap from your local vinyl shop for free.
