Just noticed something strange about my week-old CF 19. There is a hairline gap (approx.1/16th inch wide) between the display top glass and the left bezel. It runs from the top to the bottom. One can clearly see the display panel beneath the glass? surface. My thinking is that for a rugged laptop, this will defeat ruggedness as it may represent a weak point for fluid or dust intrussion into the machine. This is my first Panny so I ask does anybody know if this is normal? If not should I send it back? The moden is CF-19FHGAXAM

My first gut reaction is that what you are seeing is the screen protector, or edge of it anyway.

i think so too, i just got my cf-19 as well but it seems to have a protector with the edge you describe along all four sides.

I had suspected such a thing too, but this is my first Panny and never have used a screen protector. Is there any test or check process to confirm if what am seeing is a screen protector?

The screen protector is attached to a plastic panel that covers the lcd
You can put a fingernail in sideways between the bezel but it has a foam seal
If there is a space straight on and its possible to touch the lcd panel directly ,you do have a problem
