I have an older copy of some software on my CF-30 that I would like to run on my CF-53. Windows 7 32 bit runs on both computers. I am going to attempt to take the HDD out of the CF-30 and drop it into the CF-53 (I have a backup in case of total failure). Anyone attempted such a migration before?

Shouldnt have a problem unless you are putting the drive into a cf-53 mk4

It's worked for me before but every so often I will get the "blue screen". My guess it's the video or chip set drivers that caused it. Can't hurt to try

BSOD, even in safe mode. I’ll try the driver update while in the CF-30 and see what happens.

Check it out here. I have not used it for years but when I did it worked awesome. Lots of tools to use. You can make a CD or USB...I use a USB.

You may find that Windows will force you to reactivate as well.
