Just looked at their website, and also on the other machines. But they are just htpc's in a keyboard with a Commodore logo.

It would be cool, if it also had the old ports for the C-64 diskdrive and the Atari/C-64 joysticks....

Unless then, its juts a brandname thats used to sell PCs.

These were released a couple years ago; it's not exactly news. The BLEEPtards at dVice finally noticed them and now the meme is getting a second wind. Hoopty.

They originally promised an emulator and the original ROMs as a "someday in the future" enticement to get the real C64 junkies to buy in; most of them were too smart for that (read: been hosed before by similar scams) and stayed away in droves.

This iteration is nothing more than an attempt to cash in on those who want to feel nostalgic for a time they weren't around to remember; I, for one, will keep my working, hacked C64 in storage a few more years until my son is able to use it.

And when he is ready, I will teach him those lessons I had to learn by myself as a youth; then he too will know the difference between a SysOp and a (L)user... and he will be better for that understanding.

...especially considering some C-64 fans have made great strides in this area. There used to be a method for hooking up a 1541 via a parallel cable; now, as parallel ports are disappearing from PCs, a USB version (" ZoomFloppy") has been developed.

The CCS64 site lists the German website C64Games.de as having a joystick adapter available.

Combine the above with the CCS64 emulator, and you'll probably be closer to the real thing than the "remake" (unless you really want the case). I still have a real C-64 squirreled away, though, and I need at least one new joystick. ;-)

You can make a new joystick for the C64 using ANY dual-pot X-Y axis controller you can find. I did dozens of them; they were all able to be trimmed out to work excellently.
