Will the hard drive caddy from my Mrk 2 work in it?

Yes the hard drive and caddy will work. After you format and reinstall the operating system.
It's a mk6
Description: Win7, Intel Core i5-3320M 2.60GHz, vPro, 10.1" XGA Touch, 500GB(7200rpm), 4GB, Intel WiFi a/b/g/n, TPM, Bluetooth, Dual Pass (Upper:WWAN/Lower:WLAN), 56k Modem (RJ11), No Drive, Toughbook Preferred -
How can I check compatibility of other parts? My old unit has factory GPS and backlit keyboard. Are the batteries the same?
From what I am reading the Mrk6 is upgradeable to 8mg Ram. Are both memory chips accessible without having to take the lower half of computer apart? What memory sticks are recommended? -
You can try without a reinstall, but it's a pretty big hardware jump.
Install the new drivers while the drive is in the old machine. That may work.
GPS, Keyboard, and batteries should work fine.
You need to pull the base to get to the bottom ram module.

if there is no big reason to just swap the drive/caddy the best route to go is always a full *clean* install .
there is less chance of a conflict between the old stuff and the new stuff .
if you run into problems , it actually would have taken less time to do a clean install .
a re-installation disk is money well spent ... better than a bottle aspirin and hair pulling . -
Don't forget to do a clean install of Windows 10.
