    It is a Sony PCGA-AC16V6. Same power plug, same specs. So what's the big deal? They can be had for cheap, that's what. I'm looking at one that's $10 shipped, prices seem to vary in the $10-$20 range..

    interesting... on Ebay.

    Some entries even say CF-28 compatible.

    A lot of overseas sources, but some US. From $5 on up. :eek:

    <that's excluding shipping >

    Yeah! What HE said...

    I'm lookin' on eBay, and aside from a couple 99c-ers that could close at ANY PRICE, All I'm seein' ranges from $17-$20 shipped. Still a reasonable price, tho.

    One thing to make sure of - some of the Sony models that have that plug actually output 19V, not the 16.5 our Toughbooks need. I dunno if that 2.5V will really matter; but something to be mindful of.

    looking on ebay.. should have specified.

    anyway, i just won this one for $10 w/ shipping: 350047122989

    and that same seller has another one under this listing: 300217187485

    so umm, yeah, it is an auction so there is no guarantee of a great price, but i just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that there is an alternative that will likely be cheaper than what toughbook adapters typically go for.

    The sony power adaptor puts out about 14 less watts than a good panasonic adaptor...FWIW...YYMV

    I'd rather have stock adapters. I have bought a few of the Brite-On adapters that are pretty good. And at only $10 ech... Not to bad.
