So i finally did it, after a LONG research and a lot of brain storming and what not, I decided to go with the W5 in the end. I ordered the 3199 version with core duo and 1 gig ram. Although it is pretty late and vista is on the horizon...I'll just get vista later i guess. If you guys have any questions regarding the W5 I will definitely answer them after i get my unit. Can't wait woot

i'm really interested in getting a W5 in near future. i've been looking for an ultraportable that i can take anywhere. i have 14" now and it's good but it's still an hassle quite heavy and bulky when you're always on the go. thanks!!

oh and some pictures would be appreciated.

I had the W5K myself - bought it from Dynamism last year and sold it recently.

Dunno if that was a good move. To put this in perspective - you can get the Y5 instead for that price! "Core Duo" is the marketing line on that W5M you got, but when you look closer it is a relatively slow CPU (1.06 or 1.2Ghz), whereas the Y5 sports a 1.6 or 1.85Ghz CPU. For the same money?

With that in mind, I dunno if you snagged an optimal deal there. If you wanted low weight, the W5 is good but the Core Duo is not a spec worth leading with as it is a very deceptively slow one.

In your situation I would go with the Y5, not the W5. Y5 is 14" screen and still only 3.4lbs. The drop down to 12" screen can be tough, to be honest. But if you dont mind that, the the W5 is a very good machine, nost fast, but very light and long battery life. The R6 is worth a look too.
