I'm more interested to know if the system was adopted or upgraded to CF-19s or scrapped altogether.

Regardless, not many sub-notebooks will survive that kind of daily usage.

The RCMP here use the computer based ROAD's software to do most of the communication between the officers and the main office
Very little communication is done with voice as citizens here use police scanners
The exceptions are real time emergency's and chases where it is too time consuming to input information into the computer

That video is old but they still use this old software today
Nothing new on the way they comunicate by voice in the clear ,except the common use of cell phones in the last 6 years
I know one of the RCMP communication techs
The hardware is changed ,but cf-29's are still more common than the cf-30 here

Still in use but I hace seen more 29's in cars with the RCMP here in AB. they do have 19's mounted on motorcycles and mountain bikes still though. And as tomcat said ROAD's is in wide use everywhere.

Actually, this video got me to thinking of mounting a Toughbook on my Suzuki DR-600 Dirtbike for GPS and music in the woods! :D
