I broke the keyboard connector latch piece that holds the ribbon cable to the motherboard. It actually seems to still hold it down okay but of course it's not snapped in. Is it possible to get this separately or should I try something like sandwiching it with double stick foam tape to keep it pressed down? This is a CF-51 btw. Thanks.

btw speaking of the keyboard, is it possible to use another model than the one that was originally installed? I noticed the CF-52 keyboard costs less new on eBay than a used one for the CF-51..

Do you have a part number for the board? Or a picture? It's also usually best to post your model # like CF-51________.
Good luck and welcome to the melee. (it is to a word....hand to hand struggle)((sorry arguing with the spell checker))

Not really sure what model you have but I took this from the CF-28 FAQ
If your brown lever is broken or missing from the main keyboard connector... Read this http://forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic/351181-cf28-keyboard-connector-epic-fail-now-what.html and this http://forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic/241818-any-fix-broken-keyboard-connector-28-a.html
Hope it helps -

I had an issue before where I broke the keyboard cable latch off on a CF-18. It still worked when pressed in and used some removable adhesive putty to keep it in place and never had any issue after that.
