The emissive chicklet keyboard for the 28 needs a special high voltage board which is very hard to find. It looks like the state of texas

The emissive keyboards for CF-28 will only work for the P and S versions (800MHz & 1.0GHz). The M (600MHz) version does not have a place on the motherboard for the "Texas" circuit to plug in.

You can only use a rubber backlit type in the two connector variety on your cf-28
Some rare mk2 and mk3's allow the use of an older type emmissive
The nice hard key emmissive keyboard is for cf-29's and newer -

Some very rare MK2-MK3 also allow the use of the newer emissive keyboards.
