Hello
I bought Kingston HP 8GB 2Rx8 PC3L-12800SE DDR3L-1600 1.35V Memory card and my Toughbook cf 31 wont recognise it. The Toughbook boots up but it wont show in my system. Its just the Samsung same specs that shows on the system. It can be read in CPU-Z its exactly the same as the Samsung brand. Any idea guys?
Its different because I have other ram that when installed my Toughbook wont boot at all, but this one boots to windows yet it wont show in the system.
Any help ill be greatly appreciated.
I have attached the CPU-z for reference.

Does it work somewhere else? Can you install it as a single module, without Samsung one?

I think you've bought a fake memory. Never buy RAM or flash on ebay.
-
If you bought all 4,
Do the other 3 work?
Label the memory 1,2,3,4--- Which one is bad? Or are all four not working?
Do you mean other ram installed won't boot when installed alone?
Or won't boot when installed with the "bad" 8gb memory stick?toughasnails and Vasudev like this. -

Try one stick at a time. When you find a good stick that boots into windows shut it down and try that stick in the other memory slot to see if it boots into windows. Just want to check to see if both memory slots are ok. In the past I have seen bad memory slots before.

I tried three of those ram and all won’t boot when installed. Both ram slot is working because my cf 31 has 4GB and 8 ram both slot and both works. Only when I put those Kingston ram it won’t boot but boot when I put my Samsung all together. It’s really weird.
When I combine Kingston and Samsung cf 31 will boot but Kingston is not recognised by the system. But I can see it on cpuz. Properties that’s why I manage to get a screen capture that I attached here.Last edited by a moderator: Mar 20, 2019 -
I think you bought the incorrect memory
The KVR16LSE11_8 you bought is 72bit ECC
https://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/KVR16LSE11_8.pdf
The proper memory is 64bit NON ECC

Part Number: KCP3L16SS8/4
Specs: DDR3 , 1600MHz , Non-ECC , CL11 , X8 , 1.35V , Unbuffered , SODIMM , 204-pin -
Thanks for this mate
I am pretty sure that's the cause. I already contacted the seller and I will return the four ram to get a refund..Vasudev likes this. -

Hello Guys
I bought a faulty Dell 11 7130 and it has aWWAN EM 8805 on it. Do you think it will work on my toughbook CF31 mk3? -
no.
Not without a bunch of work reprogramming it.
A couple guys here said they made a non Panasonic branded card work.
I followed the instructions to the letter and made 3 useless cards. -
Ohh that’s a shame. Thanks for the reply
