It could just be the screen protector... see if you can peel it off...

ALL touch model Toughbooks have a screen protector that is pretty heavy duty. You can run without it but it isn't recommended. If it's bugging the cr@p outta you I'd remove it.

    Hi Rob

This is a non touch. I have replaced one of these before. It is like siliconed in place. I can't fined it looking in the service manual CF-30 MK2. There ia a thread here on using Never Dull on a 29 to remove the coating on this part but no part number to replace it.

I have been searching for this material for a while. My Cf29's is .040" thick. The best I have found today is clear Lexan available at your local hobby shop. It comes in sheets and is used for RC cars. You will have to cut it yourself.

    Hi Shawn

All parts should be listed in the service manual…But hell if I can find it…The last time I needed one I took it out of a CF-28

Pages 36 & 37 of my CF-29 service manual show several sheets of some sort stacked up in front of the LCD unit. I'm not interested enough to try to figure them out, but if you need one you can probably figure it out. Do you need the service manual?

I have the manuals, I personally am messing around with "dirt cheap" ways to replace touchscreens. Some of the people who buy these from me don't want to spend the money for a touchscreen. Heartlands would be painful to buy the parts. The Lexan is very cheap at the local hobby stores.
The original poster is looking for one for a CF 30. The only manuals I have for that are the Touchscreen version, which does not list the clear non touchscreen sheet.
