What is the generic name of the glossyblack LCD Cable Tape? Also if someone can recommend a source for both the Kapton and Cable tape so I don't have to pay shipping twice, that would be cool.

Any issue in using the kapton for both applications?

Actually, you don't use tape to splice film. You use acetone. You use tape to splice tape; some tapes are nylon polymer, some have foil for a sensing mechanism.

Wait so thats the only tape you need?

Theres also Laird woven metal tape and the reflective tape on the back of the lid.
Thought I'd mention that there is reflective stuff called "nashua" tape at hardware stores, its made for heat insulation as is most metal/reflective tape.

LOL - well, Super 8 was to real film as a Kodak 110 was to a real camera... intended for weekend users.

You need to be able to make a bond with only a couple mm overlap to make a proper splice that won't be visible across several frames; this requires good old acetone. And a steady hand. :geek:

You want real fun; I used to repack 8-track tapes that had gotten "derailed"... I was quite good at it. The world's longest moebius loop.

    mnem
    Infinite looped.
