I recently bought this computer here in Japan together with a new SSD. I assumed that upgrading the HDD would be straightforward however unfortunately it's not. Is there any info on how to upgrade the HDD for this model? Thanks.

The N10 is only available in Japan, so you're unlikely to find much english speaking support for it.

However...as long as you find an HDD/SDD with the same interface as the current drive, it should work without an issue.

Any guide will do even in Japanese. I did a search on google Japan but couldn't find any information on anyone who has changed the HDD just a few websites charging for the service. I just bought the notebook so it's still under warranty. I have replaced notebook HDD's before but to change the Panasonic it appears that the whole thing has to be completely dismantled?

It'll be under warranty, but only in Japan. Not in the UK where it looks like you're located.

As the N10 isn't available outside of Japan, I can't look up any resources on it, so the HDD may be buried inside the unit and not easily accessible.

Sorry it's been a while since I first registered on these forums. I'm now living in Japan so getting support isn't a problem. I'm just worried that if I open the computer I will lose my warranty.

Ah right, that explains a lot :)

Yep, you'll invalidate your warranty if you open it up and fit non-standard peripherals to it. No question of that. However, most of the newer Toughbook Executives (the Let's Note series in Japan) have user removable hard drives caddys - is this the case on yours?

Hopefully it will be easily removable, I'll take a look later :)

If you are able to easily remove the hard drive caddy, then you should be reasonably easily able to disassemble it, replace the hard drive, reassemble it and refit it into the N10.

If you ever need to send it in for repair, you can refit the factory HDD before you send it in. Be careful not to damage anything yourself, as you are breaking the warranty.

Also look for stickers they will break and let them know you have been inside the machine.
