The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

It appears that NBR is getting more like Facebook?

I kinda like it! (No pun intended) :)

Facebook isn't too bad, but you will never find my real name listed on there.

Have you tried switching to VB4 Default Style? Also some have reported you may need to refresh your browser

Rick, You obviously have no children. I probably would have almost no idea of what Facebook is, other than probably the worst buy any stock speculator ever made, if I didn't have a daughter and a couple of nieces in their late 20's, early 30's. If you want to be in touch you have to play on their field.

Not only do I not "like" or even use Facebook, I "dislike" (hate, actually) this new NBR format so much that I seldom even check it out anymore.

That's the way I have it set: it still sucks!

Facebook, *sight* I have a wife to post not just her whole loife, but co-incidently also half mine!!!!!

TopCop, I do still hope that they will give us an old version sometime soon again. But I'm starting to doubt it.

Change is a fact of life. Either we accept it or we become miserable and stuck in the "good ole days"

Unfortunately there isn't a ready template that admins could just install on this new forum version to get the old look back. I tried to look for one before the upgrade and saw that it seems to be a feature quite many wants, yet none exists. Actually if someone would make one, they could probably sell it worldwide as a plugin of some sort and generate some extra income... (someone please take the hint!)

Too bad I have zero skills in that area. As if I had any actual skills in any area :D

I've become used to the new look - not what I expected at first launch when I found it very hard to read.
Seen a number of other sites with that same white-on-blue VBulletin logo.
    So last year...

I know that feeling all to well! What on earth am I doing here! But at least you have good moderator skills!! Pretty important to keep this site up and running!

That's when you start to get old! Ti's that you know that "good ole days" weren't always that good, but you still long for them anyway. All these rappid changes of today are a ß¡©h
