I had my 1st BSOD yesterday morning. A window had popped up in regards to my sidebar on Vista. I didn't even have my side bar open. The only program I had open of all things, was the Panasonic Reference Manual! System shut down, I rebooted and was told No OS Found

I just about had cardiac arrest to say the least. I called Panny and they said my boot sector was screwed up. No fix for it he said.

I had been wanting to go back to XP, so I reloaded everything. What a PITA, especially when your time was nill.

Everything just freakin works perfectly now. I'ts like your 1st love, it feels great to use. ;)

The only thing I don't know is, Panny sent me a driver disc for XP out of the blue last week. I dont know if I should load this instead of the drivers that were on my XP restore disc? Has anybody ever recieved such a disc from them?

Not me.... If it's working... Stick with what you have. One of the things I am going to start doing is cloning my hard drive once I have it set up the way I want!

This is what I do and it is SOOO nice. The only thing I learned is you have to do it before you get ALL your software done. Some software, ie Office 2007, Microsoft S&T, and Outlook don't always work after a restore from this state. Basically, if you need to enter a product key, you are better not including it in the image. I have had it work many times, BUT, when it fails it will kick your ***.

I don't know what software you are using, but I make backups too including all my software (Office 2003 LEGAL, etc...) and it works perfectly. Never had an issue

In the 22 years I have been doing it, I have used Norton and Acronis, and have failed recovery 3 times. Not at all to be concerned with in retrospect, but those 3 times... WHOOOOOOOOOOOOWEEEEEEEE did I have issues trying to get them to work. Ended up just reimaging them from scratch. Since it doesnt happen often enough, I didn't catch on until the 3rd fail. If you want to be safe, do two; one after the OS and all updates and another with all your software. Just my 2 cents.

My Outlook 07 is kicking my butt. I lost all my contacts. My email server is AOL, if I log onto AOL all my sent emails, contacts are there. I can't get all of them to move over. It worked when I 1st loaded Outlook a couple of months ago, but not now. I am stressed beyond belief not having my contact list. I have to go into the Bureau this afternoon, we have an IT guy that might be able to help me if he's not swamped.
I know people say AOL is crap, which mostly it is, but thank god I use it for my email server or I would totally lost.

I had just signed up for IDrive and had not backed everything up yet. Just my luck!

This is one bad week. They just finished our pool, the day after we filled it with water, which took 3 days, has 2 cracks in it. My computer took a s**t, my allergies are about to make me want to crawl in a hole a die, and my anniversary is Saturday...... If I make it thru this weekend it will be a miracle!
