For those of you with Toughbooks running the i5-2520 processor with Intel HD 3000 graphics ...
Are you able to get full screen resolution in Linux?

    CF-53 here
Not getting above 1024x768 in Arch Linux, running latest drivers (xf86-video-intel, mesa, etc)
Be interested to see if anyone else is having this problem running Linux.

Hi Core Team. Here on the right coast of U.S. in new england. Which toughbooks have this processor you are asking about?
My processor is older on my cf-c1 but there are several here with the newer processor, however do not know what graphics they are running. What are the specs of your system?
There are several people here using Linux that might have answers...

I'm running Fedora 16 x64 on my CF-C1 w/ i5-520m (intel hd2000). It got the native resolution with no issues (1280x800); even with a secondary display (VGA) it configured the correct resolution.
I'm using the X.org included driver (not the vesa generic one), and the only issue is Flash plugin HW acceleration, which doesn't seem to work, as there are a lot of dropped frames, even on a 720p stream.
I'll have to tinker with this issue, soon.

Is your Arch Linux distro the latest version ? if so, did you install the relevant updates (xorg-server, intel driver, etc). It may well be a Xorg.conf issue.

You can easily try a Live CD version (on a disc or USB flash drive) with a new(er) distro, or another one (Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Debian, Fedora, CentOS, etc). If that solves your problem, you can the proceed to install it on the hdd.
