I think I'm ready to move up from my 30's as my main computer. I am really getting tired, I guess that's the right word, in the low resolution and screen size. More and more websites I visit just don't display correctly on the 13.3.
I was ready to pull the trigger on a 54 but now I see where a Performance Model is soon to be released/offered.

Has anybody heard of any negatives to the new 54 yet?

This laptop is too dangerous for me.
Looking through those photos... You have to use it in a fridge or in thick gloves. Maybe it's too hot. I'm not ready.
Also you can see that, while this laptop is very light, you have to bring that large box with instruments with you.

Thanks for making my day BaRRmaley. I have not laughed so hard in a while. :D

I see by your sig that you are looking for a new country. Maybe try Canada, it is barely over 100yrs old, which is fairly new in the scheme of things.

    Have a good day, eh.

Thanks! I thought about "good England", but there are 3 more letters between these two words. Your offer looks... fresh :)

    I just don't like it :)
And $1800 for non-HD screen edition looks like.. ROBbery :))

Take a look at Toughpad 4K. It's really something different :)
And I like new Dell XPS 13 - it's not expensive. If you don't need a rugged laptop.

DELL ... Now I don't know the price but rugged they are not. We HAD three of them at work mounted on Hyster 120 forklift and could take the pounding after a month we replaced them with CF-19 .

since you ask. I posted the original specs of safn1949's units for sale..
Personally I would choose a CF52 over a CF53 or CF54..I own a CF53 and it is disappointing....Failure prone in the video circuits....I see a lot of them on ebay with failed video..I like the taller screen of the CF52 much better...
I can't wait until I get my 15.4 touchscreen mod done....

The CF-54 is new so it will have some growing pains associated with it but it seems to have some features that I like "built in". The second internal SSD drive (not sure if it is bootable) is something I really like. Having a swapable media bay with a PC card and battery as options besides DVD is a definite plus. It is lighter and the new emissive keyboard looks good.

Choose Canada, the better half is from England and she wouldn't go back if that tells you anything.

The CF-52 is my favorite,I use an old 52G all the time. Sold my last one and tried several different laptops, back to the 52 I went. They just got it right in my opinion.

Blair, I have been doing some configuring but they have not updated the inventory since the 13th which is kinda crazy. This model# is pretty close to what I need. Of course, I will install my own SSD and upgrade the memory myself. Did you notice there are no GPS units yet? I wonder if that's what they are waiting on?
