    Hi all,

First off let me say that after never owning a Toughbook, I got one yesterday and am completely blown away by the build quailty!

    Now my questions:

First, I was cleaning the screen, and I wiped off some of the Anti-glare. I saw that the mod here recommended alcohol to clean the rest off, so now I have the screen completely stripped of the coating (was that ever a pain).

I went on Ebay, and bought a new screen protector. I went with this one, since I read on your forums that this was a forum vendor and they were good quality.

Now, I was just wondering if this is going to be as good or better than the original coating? Also, is it a permanent fix?

    Number two is this:

As far as aftermarket batteries, what do you all recommend that is good quality, but low in price?

    Now for my specs:

    Model CF-28
    800Mhz
    512mb of Ram
    Upgraded 60Gb HD
    Wifi Mod
And a whole lot of -kickery!

    Thanks!

Just one question on you specs
The cf-28 model was available with two screens
Do you have the 12.1" or the 13.3" screen

.Ebay. about 4 months but I have noticed since then they have been a lot of cf-28's up for sale and the price has jumped up some. The guy I got mine from has no more or at least he has not had any up 4 sale for a while. It was $34.99 + $20.00 s/h " buy it now " He had a start price of $19.99 but I knew it would not last long so I took the buy it now. I also got my cf-29 battery from him for $19.99 + 23.99 s/h which was a steal ( 5 + hours )

There is hours of reading posts here on your cf-28 as it was the most popular model up to about one year ago when the cf-29 became affordable

I used to buy my screen protectors from ScreenPatronous on ebay... Good deal and they are the same type of silicone-backed cling type screen protector.

Yes, that one isnt bad, Its just that its 5.4AH where as the other is 6.6AH.

    Grrrr, I hate choices!

@ ohlip, this unit does have the 12 channel GPS receiver, but modding a newer one in would be awesome (this one is realllly slow). Is that what you are referring to?

    Teo,

I thought about that... Did you just stick the patch antenna looking straight out?

    Just curious...

Let us know the lifetime after you get it, and refresh it
