Do I need a differnt upper keyboard trim if I replace a standard keyboard to a rubber one? I thought I read something on the site but unable to find it again.

    Wow, that's a surprise!

Just looked at my 2 29 Mk.5's one with, one without rubber KB and there is a difference in the upper trim.

The trim on the rubber one overlaps the rubber and looks about 1/4" deeper, front to back, than the other type. There's also a groove along its width that the non-rubber one doesn't have.

    Standard KB Cover is: DFGE0076YA-0

    Backlit KB Cover is: DFGE0131

I thought I read that on the site but unable to find it again. :D

    o.g.

EDIT: I should have said: you can force fit the standard KB cover to fit on a rubber KB so NO, you don't have to change the KB cover but there will be a GAP between the cover & KB.

FWIW, I've actually just taken a dremel and ground off that extra 1/8" on the trim to make it work wth a standard keyboard.

Also, on the CF-31, I used the rubber keyboard bezel and simply ground an 1/8" off the 'F11' (special key that has a raised plastic boarder around it) on the emmisive keyboard to make it fit :D
