    Maintenance for waterproof port covers?

    Should the seals on all the port covers on a CF-29 be lubricated, restored, replaced on some kind of schedule with some kind of material? Recommendations?

    I generally replace my power rubber every 3 months regardless as it gets beat to HELL with all the use... the USB one I replace every 6 months... You have a 29 so the seals aren't very good to begin with.

    Obviously if they break then I replace them too :p

    you could treat them with silicone grease (dielectric)

    When you do that, they don't stay plugged anymore... they just pop off the port and hang loose. (Particularly the power and USB cover). I've tried.

    mine at the top of the flap there is a nice catch and it takes quite alot of force to pop open.

    Mine don't... plus, I don't like the grunge that tends to accumulate when you smear grease there. Yucky putz.
