I just bought a CF- 30CASLZBM and I am looking for the best deal in memory for it. Per the book, the maximum is 4GB 400 MHz PC3200 SODIMM. Does this look like what I need and does the price seem fair?

Yes, I can read, but I have not been following the board of late and who knows, someone may have figured out a " weird little trick" to run more or faster RAM! LoL!

I was somewhat disappointed to not find a CF-30 FAQ on the site! ;)

Thanks Shawn , I tried to do that on my phone but no go :( .
You can use PC2-5300 DDR2 or PC2-6400 DDR2 which will run at the slower speed.

Here is one search you can try http://www.ebay.com/sch/Computer-Components-Parts-/175673/i.html?_sop=15&_nkw=2gb+ddr2+laptop&rt=nc

BTW nice 30, looks like you got a loaded one.

I think you have that backwards don't you, the PC2-5300 would run at the slower speed (or 5.3GB/s) then the PC2-6400 (6.4GB/s.)? Or, am I confused?

he meant PC2-6400 rated @ 800 Mhz, will run at the lower speed of the memory controller ( intel 945GM) on the CF-30, i.e. 667Mhz. But nonetheless, it may be faster, because *at* the lower 666 freq, it can have a lower CAS Latency (CL5 vs CL6).
I'll check on my 30mk1, to tell the exact timings the BIOS set up for my Crucial DDR2/800Mhz CL6.
Here's some info on memory speeds: Memory upgrades from Crucial.com - Memory speeds and compatibility

The CF30mk1 PDF spec files list the memory as PC2-4200 (533Mhz), however I think that's the minimum speed memory accepted. It should run at the CPU FSB (1:1) at 667Mhz (PC2-5300).

On the mk2 (i965GM) and mk3 (iGS45E) you can use that PC2-6400 memory at it's full 800 Mhz. So keep that in mind, for a future upgrade.

Yes that is what I meant  . Many times you can pickup this memory cheaper on ebay. I think it was Shawn that picked two 2GB for around $20-$25. I known I have got them for $15 shipped.
