    Hi all,

I have a W4 with the stock 512Mb of memory. I was thinking about upgrading with another 512Mb, but am concerned about what it might do to my battery life. Sometimes the battery life is not very relevant, but sometimes it's very important and I don't want anything to impinge on it.

Does anyone have any figures or know of any tests on the impact of more memory on battery life?

Hi speedsixdave. I've never heard of battery life decreasing by adding more memory but I can tell you that adding more memory will cut down on the usage of virtual memory which uses your HDD. So decreasing the usage of the HDD for virtual memory by adding more memory may actually increase your battery life just a wee bit. But don't expect a sizable increase if any at all. Basically it should not decrease the battery life. I'd say go for it. Add that RAM. Hope this helps.

Adding a 512MB stick didnt change anything (at least that I could notice) on my W5.
