Staying home. Zero plans other than maybe replace the backup cam on my truck. Enjoying the 60 degree weather in western PA in Dec.
Looking forward to peacefulness. I really cant deal with the family at the moment.I already shipped out the gifts to those I care about.hmscott likes this. -
No family to speak of but the girl is going to make an English dinner for Christmas, roast beef, roast potatoes,Yorkshire pudding, spotted dick and custard ,Newcastle brown ale and a good cigar.
The funeral will be the next day.hmscott and toughasnails like this. -
From Wikipedia......
Spotted dick is a popular British pudding, made with suet and dried fruit (usually currants and/or raisins) and often served with custard.
First thought was maybe someone needed to see a Dr.Wyoming88! and toughasnails like this. -
yeah ...
many years ago my sister worked with a english gal that had been transplanted to the US .
it was the first christmas season that they had been working together ...
i asked my sister to see if the gal had a recipe for "spotted dick" ...
my sister looked at me funny and then turned bright red .
i explained to her that it was a type of english pudding .
it still took her a few minutes to reover her composure .
(did i mention my sister was a bit prudish ?)
that asides ...
merry christmas to all .
(maybe the title of this thread could include "/merry christmas" so as to not have to start a new topic ?) -
Thx! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to You as well.

. With 3 daughters , 1 step son , 1 step daughter and now 9 grandkids Christmas is always a big deal in my family. What's funny is I am sitting on my front deck drinking my morning coffee and no snow and it's almost 60 degrees out...
we don't get this kind of weather in Canada.
