VERY interesting! I would like to know myself!
 -

I think it would because the interface is the same, AFAIK, as the WWAN modem.
USB interface: 2.0 full speed of 12 megabits / sec (via PCI connector) -

You guys are gonna make ME do it, aren't you?
 -

Yup

You can get combination card; WWAN-GPS from the same outfit. U-Blox provides modules for several manufacturers. I have the same Thoshiba card in my chart plotter (Furuno). It's good, but you will get better results with SIRF-starIII engine. Antenna is most important part of any GPS. Voytek

you guys are talking about the cf-30 here, don't know that much about them and precious little more about the cf-29, but do you think this could be made to work on a cf-29 mk 4-5?.........Driller

The SIRF-starIV engine is now out. Anybody tried one yet? -- or seen a source for one-off units?

Is the sled for the gps and the Wwan the same basic hookup and only the card that fits in it the difference. I noticed on fleabay that some of these cards seem the same at least in the pictures I was able to view with some magnification. any documentation available that would show or list part numbers here? thanks............Driller

I have 2 sierra mc8781 wwan with gps pcie cards that I unlocked and enabled gps. Soon, I will stick one in my cf 51 (replacing the wifi temporarily) and see if it recognizes it.
I don't know if the wifi pcie is a standard full pcie or a crippled one. -

@deere245
WWAN pci-e is usually the crippled one
That being said every manufacturer does whatever they want with their slots
I wished we could add a pci-e ssd ,like some netbooks come standard with
That would be great a smaller fast ssd ,and a regular hard drive for storage -

DRILLER:
My ETA is between Feb 23 and March 8th.... ugh... -

I just bought some mini keyboards from a seller in Hong Kong
I received an email and they said to be patient with them
as they were partying and having a great time with my money
Hopefully they don't loose all the money at the casino, they need to save enough for shipping

I was thinking the same thing; I have a 32GB Super Talent Mini PCI-E SSD out of my netbook that's rated 55/90 MB/sec ( I stole it for $39 on the bay). Talk about the ultimate ReadyBoost...
Hmmm...
