This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Are you running Windows Aero interface on models with the shared memory Intel 4 video chipset (eg, 1280x800 screens)? Do you ever output video using the VGA port? Artifacts will show up when you have 3 GB memory (1GB + 2GB modules). Match the memory and it goes away (simplest for me = 2GB slot0 + 0GB slot1).
