I know what you are thinking, what is wrong with this guy! Well I am a detail guy about many things and when I don't know what I am doing I tend to err on the side of caution.

Soo, without further self serving justification for my lame question, what brand of industrial double-sided tape do you use and where do you get it?

I am installing an Emissive keyboard I bought from Springfield98 and want it to be correct.

I certainly don't want a repeat of the infamous silicone oil quest!

For your CF-29, 3M Scotch Double Sided Tape, 1/2" would be sufficient. You dont need a lot of it.

Thanks! I was looking at some at the local Staples, but I saw where some on here were using "Industrial" double sided tape and I was concerned I was missing something! Also the 3M comes in "Permanent" and "Removable."

I am thinking that perhaps the removable would be the choice here?

If you still have a lot of modding left to do, removable would make the most sense.

Don't use too much, the main point is to eliminate a spongy feeling keyboard

Yeah... I just use the scotch double sided tape for that. And h3lpmedic makes sense.... If you plan on being in and out of the Toughbook... They make two types of Scotch double sided tape. Permanent and removable. Either would most likely be fine but I would use the removable if you plan on taking it out again and then, when you think/know it is the last time, I would use the scotch permanent tape. DO NOT use use the thicker 3M double sided as you will have to tear out your keyboard and bend it all up to get it out. I have seen people do this. But there are ways around that too.... Like a thin, flat spatula looking device I made to get under the keyboard and break the tape if it has been baked on. For that matter you could use a thin feeler gauge!
