IN the mainWin 7 to CF-30 thread, Capt. Dogfish posts of his success in swapping drives from a CF-30 Mark 3 to his Mark 1. I note that there is a Windows 7 Restore Disk for the Mark 3..

Can I use that with my CF-30 Mark 1 or will it refuse to restore.....

Swapping disk is a very easy solution. Get a Win 7 capable laptop - practically any, it can be non-toughbook one. Install Win 7 on it, remove the disk and plug it to your toughbook. The only thing will be to find and update drivers.

There are very rare cases when this don't work. I was using a Windows 7 on a USB bootable hard drive a lot and it boots on different computers with no problems. I use it when I need to help somebody to recover his files...

P.S. When I bought my CF-52 I took off the SSD hard drive with Windows 7 from my Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pi2550 and I directly put it on my toughbook. It works like a charm.

    Hello everyone,
Newbie here, first time post on this site.

    I own a cf-30 mk3, KCP542M

Wanted to know where you guys suggest I go to get the best recovery disk with all the drivers for my unit?
    I run win 7 32 bit pro

Again, if this question has been asked several times, I want to say sorry in advance,

Also note: I read this board every once in a while and wanted to say "thank you" for all the valuable information you provide.

    On a second note:

I have four toughbooks all together:

    (2) cf-29's (1) cf-30 and one CF-H1

There are occasions where I need "repair" work done on them. This and that kind of thing.

I am assuming that I might be able to get the name of someone (I live in North Texas) that this board/forum knows and trusts with my babies to help me out while I am "learning" to do myself. I am not opposed to shipping. UPS and USPS goes anywhere I tell them to send something.
