Do all emissive backlit keyboards made for the CF-29 interchange? I am seeing references to a "two connector" style keyboard.

I could find nothing on this is the Wiki or FAQ.

the rubberized and the hybrid emissive will interchange with the cf-29 and the cf-30.

the 2 connector one i believe is the chicklet (normal cheap keyboard style) backlight,

I have only seen that style of keyboard in a cf-vkbl01m

    Wow fast answer!

By "hybrid emissive" you mean the one with actual keys over the ruber membrane I assume?

There is a closed eBay listing for a backlit keyboard for the CF-29 with two connectors.

I believe that the "cf-vkbl01m" you are referring to is a remote keyboard designed for mobile applications?

The only two wire backlite type that I have seen is the rubber backlite originally made for the cf-27

I used one on my cf-28 and cf-29 and it worked fine
The normal backlite models require a third connector for powering the backlite

Top right keyboard in this picture is the two wire backlite rubber keyboard

This is a question asked out of pure ignorance of the subject, but don't you need the inverter board for any of the 3 ribbon emissives for the cf28 mk 2 and 3s?

Yeah!! How many different backlit keyboards do these CF-28s have? I seem to have three different ones already. First is this funny one that has a grey plastic around the keys (notice the raised sides of the F11). Is this the chicklet style? This backlight does not work  Is there an easy fix for this?

Next is the fully rubberized one that is quite hard to type on, but is great for those who hunt and peck.

And finally my favorite one so far, the black keys with green lights. :)

    Easy, But expensive

You need a cf-29 or cf-30 to take advantage of the backlite feature that requires 5v dc
The cf-28 units with the optional hardware output an ac voltage around 70v ac to illuminate keyboard #3

I went thru agony trying to figure out what type to go with when I was getting my 1st TB. Ended up with the plastic emissive, no regrets at all.

Is the green backlit one still available?
