I have a CF29 and I want to get rid of the XP that came with it and put on linux, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what distro works best with the hardware? I have the CF-VEW29V03WAAS GPS/EVDO WWAN sled, Intel 2200 WiFi chipset, DVD-ROM/CDRW drive, touchscreen.

I'm going to use the KDE desktop and I'm thinking of running Wine so I can run my Microsoft Streets and Trips, and a few other win apps.

So what distro includes the right drivers or is good on a toughbook? Are there even linux drivers for all these devices?

I have a bit of experience with Linux and could just say, linux drivers are very limited to specialized hardware, like the GPS and Touchscreen. This is from my own personal experience with other PCs not Toughbooks, but my favorite Distros to this day are still Fedora and Ubuntu. I love em. Ubuntu is the easiest to my knowledge to install on about anything btw.
