Or, maybe just a regular wart. Whilst I wait for the user manual to d/l (I am on dialup where I am right now), can anyone tell me what the rectangular protrusion is on the right side aft of the hdd drawer? It is held in place with two teeny screws, and it appears to be cracked. I can see a wire dangling in there...

Tomorrow, assuming I can find the service manual somehow, I wanna crack the case and see what really came with it. It is a CF18DDAZAMM, which allegedly is the

Pentium M 1.1GHz(Centrino), 10.4" XGA Transmissive with Digitizer, 40GB HDD, 256MB RAM, Intel 802.11b g WLAN, GPS, Dual pass through antenna, Win XP Tablet PC

I can see the two ports in the dock hole, so that supports part of it, but being used, there's no telling what got taken out of the box prior to me.

Oh - the digitizer stylus is missing. Anyone have a low-cost source for a replacement (I am going to go through that monster thread tomorrow, too.)

    Thanks again!

The digitizer-pen is not so expensive. It was 50NZ$ last Oktober in Auckland at Panasonic Headquarter.

The digitizer is a “Wacom” type so a Wacom compatable stylus will work

I hate to argue Alex, but you're wrong about any Wacom stylus working.

It needs to be a Wacom Penabled stylus, all others will not work.

    well......

    I got my screwdriver.

GPS patch antenna lead was apparently ripped out by the root on the antenna side. Kinda in the middle.

1 - whats' the cost on a replacement ant assy?
2 - if that's a lot, anybody know what the terminating connector (computer side) is?

    Thanks,

    -Shawn

PS - Dialup is an antiquated method of computer telecommunications that is still used in the hollers of Tennessee because we aren't in the wireless card footprint of any cell company, too far from a DSLAM for the ADSL route, no cable television here, and no interest in wildblue or hughes because I need the upload speed.

So, these people abuse the free WLAN at Krystals' or local hotels, and spend the rest of the time hoping it doesn't rain b/c it will kill the connection... :D

Alex, no problem its a really easy mistake to make (I was lucky enough to have some other wacom products when I ordered in my CF-18)

Interestingly enough, the other stylus options are much much more pressure sensitive, well worth investing in them if you plan to do artsy type stuff on it.
