This is "sorta" my plan also. I will NOT put my current drive and mostly working OS in jeopardy. I might clone it if doing the upgrade route, but seems I might have to do a clean install.
At this point I am "almost" bored with the CF-19. I still grab it first many times due to its smaller footprint than my CF-30... But might be time to switch it up. There is so much information out there, can somebody point me in a direction to get the RTM Version, or a version not dependent on a clean prior Windows install? Getting conflicting reports if it will work or not with my hardware.
I have Windows10_TechnicalPreview_x32_EN-US_9926 (and also x64 version) already downloaded. Should I roll out with one of these??? Almost tempted to just swap in another HDD and give that one a shot. REALLY wish I had another HDD caddy and the adapter to plug it into a USB thingy...
Biggest problem is, diagnostic hardware/software that is mission critical for me, isn't working right on the CF-30. Works fine on the CF-19. I might go give this a whack tomorrow. I need to anyways. If I can't get it 100% on both, then I will most likely wait to permanently upgrade.
I saw at least one post saying that upgrading from Windows 7 isn't an advantage. Hahaha, I should try it out on my Macbook! Yeah okay rambling now I going away to maybe do some actual tinkering/work.

Spare caddy? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-OE...169?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aed520079
Not me by the way. Just thought I'd share what I found.
Does the touch actually work like it does on a tablet? I haven't gotten mine to do so yet. Just picks or outlines. -

I don't use touch often, or really at all. My "touch" is a digitizer. It works well that way when I need to use it. But I guess it doesn't grab and slide like my tablet does. Mind you, this is still on W7 for now.

Blair, I have pretty much come to the same conclusion! I have seen all the hate W10 is getting. Security vulnerabilities and the like. And honestly it runs well enough on W7. Both my machines do. Well "all" them do. This CF-19, my CF-30, and the CF-T7.
All of them have some issues that make them less than perfect. This CF-19 is less than perfectly stable on IE. It had no issues for ages, then all of a sudden.... I have cleaned most of the problems on it up, but for now at least, I think it is time to change to another browser.
My CF-30, well it doesn't like some of my software/hardware I need for work. Both the CF-19 and CF-30 though work perfectly for tuning, their main purpose. The CF-T7 is unstable when using bluetooth comms for tuning, so it mostly sits on the shelf unused. It is likely to be sold or traded soon. Before I do that though, it is time to play musical hard drives. It has one of my larger platters in it.
Interesting question... Is there a reasonable way to make a clean recovery image saved to the HDD that can be accessed like you would for an OE recovery job?
My Ultimate CF-19 Project!
