    Hi, long time no see.
    I finally decided to upgrade my CF-18 mk4 to a CF-19mk4.

I spotted one relatively cheap on ebay (EUR550+shipping). It's a basic model, CF-19RHRAX1M that in some point, has had wwan in it (based on a tag with the IMEI).

I already equipped with a kingston SSD and tried to boost the memory up to 8GB (it came with 2+2GB).
    This became a problem.

With one of the new Kingston sticks, it would not POST. With two kingston sticks, it would POST, but a windows install would only boot repeatedly without entering the installer itself.
This got corrected with using the original 2+2GB modules.

The misbehaviour was present with both kingstons, so I'll have to return those.

It's a nice little machine, in decent cosmetical condition with 8320 hours on it. Bios is V4.00L11 (Aptio setup) which would be latest I presume.

I came across another snag, when trying to use wwan.

My old Lenovo T420 has a F5521gw which has been tested and is quite good (same chipset is used in the MK5 my FD uses).
Windows recognizes it, but I cannot use the panasonic mk5 drivers for this (the driver just won't install).

    Any tips on this?

Myself I don't use them because of the cost for a plan in Canada but if I am right you need to use one that came out of a Toughbook or it will not work. They are lots of threads on this where other members have tried but got no where. Check back later and others will be on that know more about this or use the search in my sig below.

    check this one out... http://forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic/767366-cf-19-mk2-wwan-gps.html

The F5521gw was actually quite easy.
I took the panasonic latest driver, installed it and edited the installed .inf- files.
The panasonic unit was PID_190D, and the Lenovo PID_1911.
Just did a search and replace all 190D->1911 and updated the drivers manually. Works like a champ!

What would be the correct memory modules to use (4GB each)?

Just to post a little update. I can't recall the Kingstons I used, but they were with 4 chips/side.

I pulled two 4GB hynix -sticks from a Dell E6410 (just happens to have the same chipset, QM57).
    They are 4GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600S-9-10-F2, HMT315S6BFR8C-H9.
These have 8 chips/side - and work fine!

The ericsson F5521gw works flawlessly with GPS and HSPA.

Now what else, the battery is Yellow tab. I could go over my PSU's, as I have multiple (2xCF18mk4, CF19mk4 and CF19mk5). The CF18 are a like, and the CF19's are both different.

    I'll post numbers later.

Btw, is there a backlit emissive keyboard available with nordic layout?

I had a major problem with my CF-19 Mk4 and new kingston ram, same as yours with 4 chips per side, part number:

    KVR13S9S8/4

Its something to do with chip density, the Kingston is 8 x 512, 4 chips per side

    I ordered 2 x 4Gb Samsung mem 16 x 256, 8 chips per side as like your they work a treat

I also use yellow and blue tab batteries, the charger i use for both is:

    CF-AA1633A
