Dear Gurus,
I was replacing my lcd when I lifted the old screen out some mysterious foam cushions popped out and its not obvious to me how the are to be replaced. the foam is attached to an L-shaped clear plastic. in the attached picture its located right above the ESC key and resting on the touchscreen where it fell. Thanks for you help

A look in the Service Manual would be a help for u, do u have one? What model number is ur unit?
-
That is not a mystery my friend. There are 4 of them 2 short one and two a bit longer. It is an additional foam absortion on both left and right of the LCD. The clear plastic side will be on the LCD part and the otherside is on the LCD bezel. I will post later an sketch where it belongs.
Edit: Here we go. Look carefully on the attached photo sketch.

They also have various foams to dampen things or to plug ports on the various models. Some foam... Some silicone. After looking at how things are put together... It's fairly all common sense. But then I have had hundreds apart...
Teo... You've been promoted to Jedi... Can you please use that mind trick to get me the winning Powerball numbers for next week? Just a thought. -
Thanks... I see the long ones and the orientation. seeing the forest through trees ya know. For the record, I did check the manual first before asking. Still can't make out any help. Also, don't trust that screenaid.com outfit. ordered off their website and what they sent me wasn't even close to a matching LCD. but you guys probably new that.
