Now I know everyone hates changes but this one just might be better...maybe . Remember you should be able to change the style at the bottom of the page, right or left hand side to change styles...at least this is the way it is on the Alienware Desktop Forum here Alienware Desktop Forum . I was just checking out both styles and the old style looks much better than what we have now so that is a plus. The new style has more ads which helps pay the bills to keep this forum FREE .

I don't like changes! I really disliked the last change and I'm almost used to the current one.....

 

A quick check of Desktop review and I say yuck. I don't like that at all. I hope there are options. Desktop review is REALLY hard for me to read. TOO hard to read without my eyes hurting.

I have almost completely stopped visiting this site due to the last revamp.
#1- It's butt ugly
#2- I shouldn't have to change the default just to get rid of the stupid advertisement every single time I open a new thread. I get it, NBR has to pay the bills, but annoy all of your regulars until they go away and then there is nobody reading the ads anyways.

I will reserve judgement until I see the "improvement".

EDIT: I just checked out Desktop Review and Shawn nailed it- YUCK.

Ok , let's hear it. What do you think of the new style...anyone using it :yes:

 

My eyes used to enjoy visiting this site but only before all of the changes. Now it doesn't feel right and I spend a lot less time here due to this. Such a shame.

 

For me it is ok And the "like" function is working now also in Opera.

 

They are still working on the bugs so lets hope it's for the better.

I changed to the new style on my CF-19, to check it out and now I can't change it back. The dropdown doesn't work. GRRRRR, and it's still hideous.

Using Google Chrome.

I had gotten used to the v4B style.

 

Ouch. I did the same It was like saying don't touch it, it's hot. Or don't p on the electric fence...

Go to Settings on the top right hand side.
My Settings -box has link for General Settings under My Account.
From there scroll all the way down, you'll see a drop box for Forum Skin. It worked for me.

I decided to get it an honest try. After a couple visits, my opinion is still and overwhelming and resounding MEH! It's just butt-ugly orange now with more ads to boot. It may be just a little more functional, but it is hard to get by the Tang vomit color to tell for sure. They should have never messed with it in the first place- the original design was fine.

 

Visually the new layout is the same web 2.0/2.5 nonsense that eBay, Google, Twitter, etc. have recently gotten into — "bling bling", but not my cup of tea. I didn't bother changing my preferences, but I did a few browser-side tweaks to improve the display by removing and hiding certain things that are useless to me, such as the left-hand sidebar, and it looks quite nice now.

 

I don't like it at all! I just got used to the old style and now they change it again! It has frustrated me a few times and I just left... I hate to say that....

 

Sorry, vB4 Default Style with Adblock in Chrome... No ads, full width.

Hope I remembered to thank someone for the Adblock recommendation. Does its job quietly, no fuss.


Edit. I hate it when I imagine posts & reply to them... I'm going for a little lie down now.

 

I am doing about the same in firefox, but I don't have adblock. I only have flashblock installed and there is nothing showing as blocked. When they swapped I just swapped it back to Vb4 default and left it. Never seen any ads.
