    Hi -

    I found out about the Kensington K33069 here, and it says it works for all toughbook models everywhere - but it doesn't work on my CF-72. In the process of ebaying one I got one short of an output cable, so I bought another one. Neither works with this laptop. Tip 11 puts out about 10V I think. I called Kensington and despite what it listed everywhere, they say they don't make an adapter for the CF-72

    Sites like this are apparently wrong.

    Does anyone have a solution that would recommend.

    Anyone want to buy the 2 power transformers and 1 cable plus a bunch of tips for $50? It is compatable with SOME toughbooks. You can get help from someone in India here: 800-535-4242. It's already a loss at that...

    Thanks,

    Ed

    Ed, Are you sure? I have a couple of 33069 Kensington adaptors which work fine with CF-27/28 using tip "11", so it's putting out the right voltage. Does the CF-72 use a MP-205 connector or is it the newer CF-29 type with a 2.5x5.5mm connector? Just checked, it's putting out 16.5 volts with tip 11. If the 72 uses the new style connector, Lind makes a gender changing cable which converts MP-205 to 2.5x5.5mm, Model # CBLIO-F00140. It's a bit pricey, but gets you where you want to be. Good luck.

    Ed, I have no experience with the mentioned Kensington adaptor but went through the provided link anyway.

    I noted that Panasonic & Fujitsu uses the same Tip #11. I'm using a Fujitsu adaptor to power my 48 at work and know for sure that it also work with CF-27, 28 & M34.

    According to the online CF-72 manual, it uses the CF-AA1639A adaptor (which powers my 48 at home), so I'm puzzled why you can't use the Kensington #11 with your 72.

    Sorry I can't be of more help but I wish someone here can shed some light on adaptor designation numbers as well.

    Side note;
    The odd one in my lot is the CF-50 which was shipped with an IBM AA21131 adaptor and has a smaller connector/tip. Interestingly, this tip does not have a center pin and none of my Panasonic adaptors would fit.
