    Thanks

Can you be more specific? There should be a series of seven or so characters immediately following the "CF-50" designator. It looks somewhat like a serial number.

How about giving us something like... CF-50HB2FUDM (like on mine) instead of CF-50. The numbers are on a sticker with the bottom case.

Same position as the CF-51's; two speakers, stereo, located between the keyboard & hinges.

To remove the panel holding down the speakers, unclasp from behind the hinges and once off, push the screen away and pop the panel from below. Speakers are secured by a roundish snap-on thingie. Not too difficult to remove the snap and/or swap speakers.

Try installing the Hotkey driver and apps again.
I had my CF-29 muted from the hotkeys (Fn/F4) and left it that way when installed some updates and lost my sound too. It took me a long time to figure out to try this.
    Hope it works for you..

At the top of this forum is a sticky
**READ BEFORE POSTING** **The Ultimate Toughbook Resource Thread**
Now you are going to say that this sticky doesn't cover the CF-50.
All Toughbooks are very much alike.
In the Toughbook Drivers & Manuals Sources link you will get all the info on where to get drivers and how to load them on all the models discussed here.
Also a good idea is the read about other models like the CF-29. It is the most popular model at this time and the wealth of information on this forum will lend itself directly to your CF-50.
Once you get to know how to load the drivers and apps onto any of the Toughbooks you will know how to do it on all the Thoughbooks. (with a few minor variations)
Now roll up your sleeves and get to work and learn by doing, like the rest of have. (and we are all still learning)
