Have a couple of T2 toughbooks, have upgraded the memory in both of them and yesterday started upgrading one of the Hard drives to a 160GB HD. That bit went well, but in the process of removing the top of the casing and undoing the touchpad ribbon to get at the HD, something has gone wrong (I think continuity in the ribbon from where it's flexed) and the touchpad has stopped working.
Just need a new touchpad ribbon. Anyone know what the official part number is called or where I can get/buy one ??
thanks.

Are you sure that you damaged the ribbon.
You might not of seated in in all the way, or its contacts are aligned on the wrong side

No, it's definitely damaged. where the blue tag is where it plugs into the board, after being bent for some time it has sheared the tracks in the ribbon just where it kinks. Looked under a jewellers loupe and its broken. Removing it to get top of the laptop off must have been the last straw for it. Really bad luck.

How many conductor ribbon cable is it... I may have an extra from an older CF-28 if it takes the same thing. Ebay charges a mint for these things...
Need a Panasonic CF-T2 Touchpad Ribbon
