So long story short, I need a new plug for my power supply for my CF-29. It's the end that plugs into the computer. I don't want to buy a whole new power supply, I'd rather just find the end and solder a new one on but the problem is I don't even know what the right word is for it or where to buy one online :p Can anyone help?

    DC Power Plug (Male)

    Out-side diameter 5.5mm

    In-side diameter 2.5mm

Please verify the size. The center hole on these type of plugs are different sizes One with a larger center hole will appear to work, but give you all sorts of problems. It is the same connector that many IBM Thinkpads use.

Please make sure you solder it back together and not just twist the wires together and cover with black tape.

And as stupid as it may sound: Please check the polarity after your repair before you put it into your TB. I already smoked a cordless telephone after replacing the connector of the station cause I accidently inverted the polarity :(

Yeah... Definitely test with a DVM... And no standing in puddles of water when you plug it in either!

Yeah I'll for sure solder it on and I will test it first :)

What length does the barrel need to be? I have an IBM powersupply I'm using in the meantime but it's a very poor fit and seems too short or something...

If you have the correct OEM IBM power supply the male plug is identical, just straight and not angled.
