I got hold of some older CF-28's, good condition and the price was right. Everything on the re-install went well, no yellow triangles on the device manager. (XP) My problem is, I don't see the wireless function nor can I make it come on. I took the battery out and looked under the black film, there's a component there, isn't thats the built-in wireless card..??

I have read other post but I'm confused, if the wireless antenna is there and the component under the battery is there...why can't I get the wireless function to come on when I push the button on the left side of the laptop...??

A lot of people are just putting wireless cards in the PCMIA slot but if the laptop already has wireless card built in why do that..??

Also, it has a sticker on the back that says....RIM Model R902m-2-0 Wireless modem installed. Help please...what am I missing..??

    Thanks,

Thats the factory air card control panel on the left and the card under the battery. WiFi has to be added.

It was cellular based internet that you paid for by the minute. It is obsolete now. Some of the guru's here have made GPS out of the card there's a post here somewhere.

Your welcome. I was hooked my first time here too. This forum is loaded with some very knowledgeable people. Just check the FAQ's and if you don't see an answer just ask. Been hot here too. Broke several records over the last few weeks. We have seen 100's too!!!! Totally unlike Vermont!
