I bought the black hawk cf-29 mark 4 a nice machine with the diamond rubber lid, maybe someone can tell me about what i found in the machine. Just above the battery is a lid and when i removed the 2 screws there is a card holder the plastic cover was a real to pull out so i hope i did not break it, so i removed the base and there is a gray bracket holding a device that says verison and has an esn number. what is this thing, can it be used. it has a copper ribbon that goes under the optical drive box and into a white bracket. I left a message for the black hawk folks in california but they have not responded. its seems new it has three k hrs + and is clean but I hope i didn't break something anyone can help that would be much appreciated.

Here are search results for this site.
It is a Verizon WWAN card/sled
WWAN CF29 -

You will find there are some strong feeelings about that vendor here on the forum.
My guess, its a gobi sled used to connect to a cellular network, but nothing you have to worry about, just put the cover back on and forget about it.

Thanks for the fast response, i'll just but it all back together, thought i could turn my tb into a wireless tb or something because i use verizon cell service and thought maybe i could call them with the esn to get wireless but its probably old useless tech today. thanks for the response.
