I bought the black hawk cf-29 mark 4 a nice machine with the diamond rubber lid, maybe someone can tell me about what i found in the machine. Just above the battery is a lid and when i removed the 2 screws there is a card holder the plastic cover was a real to pull out so i hope i did not break it, so i removed the base and there is a gray bracket holding a device that says verison and has an esn number. what is this thing, can it be used. it has a copper ribbon that goes under the optical drive box and into a white bracket. I left a message for the black hawk folks in california but they have not responded. its seems new it has three k hrs + and is clean but I hope i didn't break something anyone can help that would be much appreciated.

You will find there are some strong feeelings about that vendor here on the forum.

My guess, its a gobi sled used to connect to a cellular network, but nothing you have to worry about, just put the cover back on and forget about it.
