The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

We all need to sign this petition guys! Go to google.com and click on the big piece of duct tape. Please fill out the form! This is NOT GOOD.

It's funny because my co-worker has been pushing me to fill out the petition for the last 4 years and up until now it's been swept under the rug, but now, you can see that GOOGLE and Wikipedia (try searching for something on wikipedia) have voiced their opinion...

Lets all help out here! :)

I signed it a long time. It's amazing how they want to limit the freedom to defend certain interests!

    Wikipedia editors question site's blackout

FYI: if you click the "Stop" [X] button on IE when the Wiki page first loads, tou can still see the contents.

    Ya gotta be quick! ;)

Well, there's always YAHOO! and Bing.

In case you weren't aware; the name YAHOO! is an acronym which stands for "Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle".
    ;)

    I don't think it's amazing; I think it's typical.
Like a toothpick to a tree, they will quietly change the laws/codes to remove a small piece of a right (or rights) until we have blindly allowed it to remove that right(s) entirely.

And all under the guise of "for the kids", "anti-terrorism", "homeland security", "public safety", "peace".....or what ever they want to rename it to.
Call it whatever you want, it's still TYRANNY.

Anyone willing to trade a little freedom for a little protection doesn't deserve either. IMHO.
