Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, and just wanted to say it looks like a great place. I've got a couple of Toughbooks, and I love them!

I've just picked up a CF-50 and need some info on it. I'm going to have to tear into it, as both the DVD drive and keyboard are going to have to be worked over. Are there any tutorials online with pics of the inside of this beast? Anything I need to watch out for as I take it apart?

Anyway, it's a great machine, and for $21.50 at Goodwill, I think I did okay. But I did better with the CF-27 I picked up at a garage sale last year for $5. I love that machine, just wish there were cheaper batteries available for it.

    Thanks guys,

    Wes

Thanks! And one of the first things I saw was a discussion on the CF-50 keyboard. Seems the keyboard cable does not seat properly. Definitely something to look into before I try taking the silly thing apart and cleaning it key by key.

At the moment, I'm not too worried about it. I use the CF-27 as my portable machine, and the CF-50 is doing desktop service with my IBM Model M keyboard. Love the Model M.
