I got a good deal on ebay for a iM2400 Hardigg Storm Case that was custom molded for the CF-29. You never know when you'll need something like this, right? It was $67 I think, so I got it for less than retail anyway.

This thing is built like a tank. A thick rubber seal all the way around the lid. Beefy latches that lock closed yet open very easy. The cool thing is the custom molding on the inside. You can throw in any of the 27, 28, 29 or 30 series laptops and they fit like a glove and still leave you a surprising amount of room to store stuff under the laptop and also to the side. I could easily fit in not only the laptop and A/C adapter but also the floppy drive, DC adapter, a bunch of CDs/DVDs and still have room left over to put in a clipboard or whatever else I might need. It looks like it would survive a tornado or a trip over Niagra Falls and STILL be watertight!

Overall... A very good purchase I think. I'm not sure if I will keep it or sell it along with one of the Ultimate Toughbooks. I'll probably keep it for a while anyway....

The thing is... If you need something that is water tight and pretty much indestructible... You have to look into one of these cases!

    TB,
How do they compare quality and price wise with the Pelican case? I've had those cases in some very extreme conditions, with good results.

I've never had a Pelican case but I hear they are on par with them. From the looks of them both... I would say that the Hardigg has a much better latch system. It really can't be opened accidentally.

This is the first time Ive seen Hardigg Storm Cases. They look right on par as far as specs. The prices look a little better than Pelican. I live out of Pelican cases...no joke! Everything I own fits in Pelican cases that just fit in the back of my truck...Pelican poster child.

SKB makes a nice laptop case as well. The thing is bomber tough!

Well... I'm happy with mine but, truthfully, I don't know if I will ever need it. But... There's nothing like overkill!

Halliburton makes a nice case if appearance is important. For rough use, the Halliburton doesn't stay looking nice. The Pelican doesn't look fancy from the get go, but does take a beating and keeps performing. Nope, I have no afflilliation with Pelican, I've just beat the hell out of them and they keep working.

I'd prefer not have ANYTHING to do with war profiteers! They make enough money raping us through taxes.

Sorry... I should just shut up... But they burn my ASS!

Amen, brother. And don't shut up; if you do, then noone will remember.

There are 58000 names on a marble wall in DC; every one of them knows what is wrong with Halliburton. Why don't we?

Every one of my cases I bought from Vets who have returned home. I guess I looked at it as supporting them as opposed to Pelican.

Edit: Ah yes I see, Halliburton not Pelican (although they profit from the war as well)

You know, now that you mention it... I always assumed Zero Halliburton was a subsidiary of Halliburton Petrochemicals, as their origins go back a long way with development of the US Armed Forces various modular cargo systems over the years. (All those GI slings & packs & kit bags & such that everysoldier uses to carry everything); but now that you mention it, I'm NOT sure.

    Stands chastised. :(

mnem<~~~ Should know better, but sometimes forgets.
