Hello, i've just got a CF29 MK III !
I took it from germany, changed the keyboard with an Italian one that i had liyng around and work great, the price also was very low, at least for a toughbook, about 200 (250USD approx), the laptop is perfect except for some minor burn spots on the touchpanel, it seems like soldering sparks...
I'm very satisfied, but...
BUT I replaced the OS With a XP SP3 but now that i made the change i have not all the drivers... Is a classic, you think about that just after you did it... Doh !
I found almost all the driver, except for the WWAN driver (i've a MC75 EDGE card installed under the left wrist, the computer one, not the mine).
The other things that is not going, is a unknown UGX that i know to be a bluetooth dongle, with a flat pcb antenna placed under the keyboard. I seen it when changing the keyboard.
I can't find it on the panasonic site, in any language and for any MK versions. If you have these drivers please tell me.

Once you update to SP2 or SP3 it will update that to...I think it found it and installed the drivers after SP2.

I've already get SP3 but these items are still seen as "unknown", i think that i should install the driver manually, but first i have to find them, somewhere...

Thank you Glen, it worked nicely, now there's only one left, the bluetooth driver. Anyone have it ?
-
I abtained a version of the toshiba stack for windows but is a trial of 30 days, after that it will expire.
It works, but is there a possibility to obtain only the driver, without the toshiba stack application and made the windows bluetooth service to manage the thing ? -

Hei, i solved my little issue with the bluetooth thanks to Shawn for helping and to all the forum too.
So i'm planning to expand my memory of 256 o 512mb, i don't know which memory type i've to buy, ddr or ddr2, this seem a mystic question...
I've a 1.4Ghz machine and its name is CF29HTT... so i think that is a mk3, am i right ? On a mk3 which memory should i use ? Cpuz tell me that i have a DDR memory, is it right ? -
Yep, that is a Mk3. Takes DDR.

Hey, at the beginning i was blinded by the joy of having a cf29, but now i have seen that there's non rubber cover... nowhere, there are 5 rubber cover missing, 3 fro the right panel (usb, rj11-rj45, power) one fro the Wwan modem sim slot on the left and another on the back on the serial port (com). I will do without, for now.

I have some problem fitting a memory module inside my cf29, i have SDRAM memory and obviously it won't fit the 29, but i also have a pc3200 512mb module that should be a DDR type and it doesn't fit the 29...
So it is possible that i have an MK3 model that accept DDR2 memorys ? I ask this because the "hole" in the memory, is very very near to the hole of the mine, but just a millimeter away, and it just won't fit. -

Nope, they are close but no way...sorry

The FAQ should describe how to tell which mk you have.
Maybe it's in the cf29 thread.
Do you have a ps2 port in the back or a usb? -

I have a USB in the back panel, yes the chassis tag says H so mk3, but you know, one can repair the computer fitting inside a new mobo of a different mk...
I'll ask a friend of mine to borrow me a pair of these memory to try them. -
True, but if you look at the bios it will have the right number there. -
Tried, MK3, DDR (not ddr2) well... doesn't matter...

Thank you bt i already found a 512mb module for my TB for just 15€ with shipment, i took it !
1GB of memory is fine for me, and win xp runs all in memory over 768 mb of ram so it should be very fast, considering that i use a SSD for OS.
New Toughbook ! ! !
