I talked to panny sales people and it seems like I was talking to a wall.
The question is this:
the 52 allows for the i5 520M or 540M, the spec sheet claims a battery life of 8-9 hours for the 520M but only a 4 hour life for the 540M..
looking up intell specs one finds out they are the identical chip, with the 540 beeing clocked slightly higher.
both have the same TDP.
how is such a large difference possible then?
thanks

I didn't know that the CF-52's are going to start having i5's....
-
yea they apparently released that info yesterday, we can also expect updates on the cf30 before Q1 is done with.

also the two CPU's in question:
i5 520M - http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=47341
i5 540M - http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=43544
having four threads is rather appealing. But the turbo boost is what sells me on these guys. -
I have no idea why the battery life would be half of that of the lesser CPU... VERY odd......
That 13.3" 1000 nit touchscreen i5 unit with the 520 CPU is looking VERY VERY appealing.......

the difference in speed is just .1 GHz though if I remember, they both have the same TDP, they should have virtually the same battery life.
If I had to guess id say the 520 and 540 (both 35 watt TDP) both get 4 hours but the p8400 (25 watt TDP) gets 8 hours -
ofcourse the amazing i7 with 7.5 hours of battery life is only available in Japan.

Difference, as in the MKII models, is the separate video card driving a 1920x1200 screen vs integrated memory video driving less pixels 1280x800.
also a "light" battery at 50Wh or the regular at 70Wh. -
but it seems aufully foolish to me as the 540M has on die video. Now youd have integraded and dedicated video, and im assuming the integraded would somehow be disabled?
540M does not appeal to me then
the 520M howerver does
