Looks like they took my phone, inflated it, then rolled it in Plasti-Dip. :p

Liking my El-Cheapo $80-From-HSN Nokia 521, BTW... it doesn't have bazillions of apps, but unlike every Android device I've ever owned, it just plain WORKS. It's nice to pick up my phone and not dread using it.

K; time to get back to the job search...

Meh. It's fine for the purpose; Windoze 8 is meant for tablets, and the over-simplified grade-school interface really excels on a small screen. MicroSpank's retarded-ness lies in attempting to force folks who want to WORK with their desktop to use the same retarded interface. And before you go all PC "OMG, he said the R-WORD!!!" please understand that I mean it in the literal sense; as in "Not as advanced as one's peers". On the desktop, it is just a PITA; if I wanted to have to eff around doing workarounds to disable the stupid gestures and make a pseudo-desktop, I'd just get a ChromeBook; all you ever do with Android is figure out workarounds to make it do what it SHOULD do out of the box...

Dude... I use "retarded" all the time! Merriam-Webster shows it as...

...to delay academic progress by failure to promote.

    I think that fits also!

Of course the people at MS are also retards... Now THAT word is a different story! But the shoe still fits!

I believe many highly intelligent people are lacking in other skills or abilities. (retarded if you will)
No common sense and over designing everything. Can't comprehend how "simpler" people need / want to do things.

A saying I stole somewhere(and have applied to myself many times) "He could complicate a rock."

I'm thinking not so much retarded for Win8... But most likely designed by someone who is a heavy pot smoker with maybe the occasional acid drop.

Newbies get totally lost and frustrated with the system as did I the first time I ever used it. (On a desktop PC.) Once I figured out where stuff is it became less of an issue. I'd rather work in Win3.1...

Hey, hey now. Don't go confusing drug use with simple stupidity. I might have resembled your remark in an earlier lifetime ;) ; but there is no time in my existence I'd ever have tried to do something as dumb-assed as Win8 for the desktop. THEN to make it so you couldn't turn the improvements OFF, even though 80% of my customer base is screaming at me to do so... yeah. I used to joke that I'd get wasted to see what it was like to have the brainpower of average middle management.

Win8 for the desktop is just plain counter-intuitive; I can imagine a stoner trying to get past the gestures interface to log onto his Yahoo account. 2 hours later the computer's in sleep mode, pretty much EVERYTHING EXCEPT IE open in the background, patiently waiting for it's user who has fallen asleep and now has a keyboard which reeks of cannabis-drool and one side of his face looks like a belgian waffle. Which is what he pops in the toaster when he wakes up with the munchies in an hour or so.

As lame as that sounds, once he sobers up he's probably more than competent; stupid people operate at that level ALL THE TIME. And there's a terrifying number of folks just that stupid in Washington and heading the corporations which pull the strings in Washington, all making the decisions that shape the future for my children. Once upon a time, we made a point of choosing the best and brightest for those roles; now it seems it's a race to the bottom of the gene pool...

When did a "Dumb look" become an acceptable defense for utter incompetence?
