Back in 1995 a guy named Michael Moore wrote and directed a movie called Canadian Bacon. In the movie there was a funny scene where John Candy's charadter, Sheriff Bud Boomer, is stopped by an OPP Highway Patrol Officer, played by Dan Aykroyd, while driving a truck bearing all sorts of antii-Canada graffiti painted on the sides.
Aykroyd, instead of arresting Candy, cited him for not having the graffiti painted also in French and made him add the French graffiti to the truck.
He then fined Candy: "I do have to fine you. That will be a thousand dollars Canadian, or 10 American dollars if you prefer."
However, since then, Moore has become visibly, and vocally, anti-America. -
Some might consider criticism of General Motors, George W. Bush, the health insurance industry, the gross excesses of Wall Street, and similar topics un-American, some consider it patriotism.
