Hi all, new to the forum and Toughbooks, I have a CF-29HTM50BM en route arriving next week. While waiting for it to arrive, I decided to order some RAM and using a memory web tool on some website it advised me I needed PC2100 so I ordered up 1 1GB stick from NewEgg, however I've also seen that people use PC2700.

So, the question is, did I just order the wrong memory? I did read the FAQ and followed the RAM thread, but couldn't find my answer there.

btw: Great forum, I've been reading a lot since I started looking into these Toughbooks, they are perfect for my intended use.

It will gonna work but it is much better if you got the faster pc2700 200pin. They are both backward compatible.

Unreal, a dumb question is one that's never asked. You're in good company here and the next time before you jump off a cliff, ask the blokes first!! Can't go wrong with that!

Betcha' you'll enjoy your new toy. I know I did but didn't relish the sight of a pickup running over it! Nevermind... long story... :D

Yeah... I have a butt-load of PC2100... I use them to start my fires in my fireplace... 15,000 volts across the 3rd and 15th contact produces a beautiful blue flame..... Quick fires! Bad RAM.....

And how many different combinations DID you try before finding the 'magic' 3rd and 15th pin combo?
